Purpose
Intercessors for America, Inc. ("IFA") strives to promote systematic, coordinated intercession by groups of Christians who are willing to commit themselves to meet regularly for prayer and fasting on behalf of the Church, our nation, and their leaders. Five primary scriptures undergird the corporate prayer efforts of Intercessors for America (IFA) since its establishment in 1973. 2 Chronicles 7.14 calls on God's people to repent, pray, turn from wicked ways with the promise that God will respond with healing for the nation. Ezekiel 22:29-31 declares that God, in His great mercy, is looking for even one who will "stand in the gap" and help avert judgment. 1 Timothy 2:14 establishes a clear priority to pray for all men to be saved and for those in authority to establish good government as a means of producing a godly society and a propagation of the gospel. 2 Corinthians 10:3A describes our weapons of warfare as not being carnal, but divinely powerful to the destruction of demonic strongholds. Matthew 16:18 assures us that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church as it labors to preach the gospel and establish Christ's kingdom across America and to the ends of the earth. IFA publishes On Watch In Washington. This weekly prayer alert is compiled and taxed or sent via e-mail each Wednesday to hundreds of contacts across the U.S. It outlines critical issues in the city of Washington, DC, in the White House, Congress and Supreme Court, and monitors foreign fronts and emergency matters nationwide. It is supplied upon request to individuals, churches, prayer groups and organizations.
This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Mission statement
Intercessors for America's Mission Statement is:
Glorify Jesus Christ, seek to edify the Church and extend God's kingdom on earth;
Maintain a serving posture toward the local church and its leaders;
Cooperate with and complement other prayer ministries and like-minded organizations;
Speak prophetically -- sound the trumpet -- concerning biblical moral issues;
Adhere to biblical principles and godly conduct in all that we do;
Carefully steward the resources entrusted to us;
Stay modest in regards to structure, facilities and programs.
Statement of faith
Intercessors for America, Inc.'s Statement of Faith is:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He reigns as King, and in His personal return to earth in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential,
and that this salvation is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Messiah, Savior and Lord, and not as the result of good works.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a sanctified, godly life, and to perform service pleasing to the Lord.
We believe in private and public prayer as a relational privilege of grace and as an opportunity and responsibility to participate with God in the accomplishing of His eternal purposes in Christ.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and the lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
