Summary

We exist to create sustainable life change for the poor, the orphaned, and forgotten people of the world. From the Amazon Jungle to Eastern Europe, our work is Gospel-centered and locally implemented through our indigenous staff on the ground. In Moldova, we prioritize caring for vulnerable children and teens who are at risk of human trafficking. In the Amazon, 80% of the population has never heard the Gospel. Through training and equipping Jungle Pastors, we help Gospel transformation happen in one of the most remote and untouched places in the world.

Purpose

MI programming is centered around 5 main care and development focuses. Through these focuses, we are able to address systems of injustice and poverty within each of the countries we operate in. Central in all of our programming is our dedication to the Gospel. In all things, we seek to honor Jesus Christ and love those we serve according to His Word.

Mission statement

Statement of faith

JMI is a vehicle for individuals and churches who want to make a tangible, personal difference on behalf of the poor, the orphaned, and the forgotten people of the world. The following basic beliefs are offered in order to help you determine if you would be comfortable partnering with JMI:

We believe in one God who is the Creator and Redeemer of all things, the source of love and truth and who has expressed Himself most definitively in three persons-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16-17, John 14:9-10, 1 Peter 1:2

We believe that Jesus Christ is God's only Son, Savior of the world and model for a life lived for the glory of God. Matthew 1:22-23, John 3:16, Romans 1:3-4

We believe the Holy Spirit is actively bringing about the purposes of God today and is given the opportunity to freely and redemptively express God's intentions through us as we choose to follow Christ. John 16:5-15, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 3:16

We believe everything the Bible says about itself. Romans 15:4, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe that man was created to live in peace and fellowship with God and to expend our lives in the service of others. Any thought or action that does not measure up to that intention is an indication of our own brokenness, inability and unwillingness to achieve the purposes of God apart from his saving intervention in our lives. Genesis 1:27, John 15:4, Acts 4:12

We believe salvation, (both the forgiveness of sins and the ability to become more of what God intended us to be), is a gift from God to man and comes only by grace through his sacrificial death for us all, through Jesus. Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-5

We believe that God freely gives man eternal life through Christ, a qualitative as well as quantitative measure of living. Followers of The Way and all those purchased by his sacrifice have a reason to trust and live out their salvation for now and eternity-not by their own efforts, but by the grace and power of God. John 10:28-29, Romans 8:35-39, Hebrews 7:25

History

Program accomplishments

Over the last 15 years, we have had the privilege of coming alongside thousands of children, families, and pastors, providing physical and spiritual care. As we celebrate our 15-year anniversary this year, we look back in amazement at all that God has done. Whether you are new to our work or have been with us since the very beginning, you have made a true difference in the JMI story.

This spring we invite you to join us as we seek to raise $50,000 to invest in our Priority Needs program. This will enable us to continue serving the most vulnerable in both the Amazon and Moldova, by providing food bags, medical care, clothes, Bibles, and as-needed support.
