Purpose
Care Net envisions a culture where women and men faced with pregnancy decisions are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and empowered to choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for their families.
Mission statement
Acknowledging that every human life begins at conception and is worthy of protection, Care Net offers compassion, hope, and help to anyone considering abortion by presenting them with realistic alternatives and Christ-centered support through our life-affirming network of pregnancy centers, churches, organizations, and individuals.
Statement of faith
Care Net uses the following to express its Statement of Faith (adopted from the National Association of Evangelicals):
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not as a result of good works.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

History
Care Net was influenced by the evangelical leadership of the late Christian apologist Dr. Francis Schaeffer and former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop. The Christian Action Council was founded in 1975 by Dr. Harold O.J. Brown and in 1995 changed its name to Care Net. In 1983 Care Net instituted National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Three U.S. Presidents have issued National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday proclamations. Today Care Net represents nearly 850 crisis pregnancy centers serving over 100,000 women each year.
Program accomplishments
As the largest network of pregnancy centers in North America, Care Net is committed to expanding access to the life-saving services and support provided by our local centers and to reaching the hurting and broken with the hope of Jesus Christ.
PREPARING
Using cutting-edge research, on-site trainings, professional guidance, specialized resources, and many other forms of support, Care Net equips affiliated centers to serve clients in accordance with the highest standards and practices. Care Net provides on-site board and staff trainings using an experienced team of 15 national consultants. Our volunteer training manual, Serving with Care and Integrity, is used each year to equip thousands of new pregnancy center volunteers.
Additionally, Care Net conducts legal audits and produces the Legal Care newsletter every other month. Care Net's "crown jewel" is our National Pregnancy Center Conference, an annual event which features in-depth workshops and nationally renowned keynote speakers.
PLANTING
Abortions in our inner cities are at epidemic proportions. In many cities, abortions outnumber live births. Sadly, Hispanic and black women make up only 27% of the total female population, but account for 59% of abortions. Recognizing that over 94% of the nation's abortion providers are located in metropolitan areas, many of which are predominantly minority populated, Care Net is strategically planting new pregnancy centers in these urban communities in order to provide needed abortion alternatives and pregnancy support services.
Care Net also recognizes the need to offer pregnancy center services to women on college campuses. Therefore, Care Net is developing a college campus initiative that aims to reach these underserved areas. Efforts to collaborate with other nationally recognized ministries, as well as with local ministries, are underway.
