History
CRM started out in 1971 as the Christian Chinese Translation Center with main emphasis in translating Christian literature into Chinese. Over the years, services were expanded into other areas. To reflect this broadening scope of ministry, the present name was adopted in January 1986.
In December 1987, an independent CRM Board was established in Taiwan to promote CRM ministries on that populous island. And in January 1988, a CRM branch office opened in Hong Kong. During 1992 a CRM branch was opened in Singapore, in 1996 a branch opened in Malaysia.
Program accomplishments
CRM's accomplishments and programs include some of the following:
Literature Ministries:
CRM continues to publish Chinese translation of Christian books on a variety of topics including: Christian growth, apologetics, evangelism, theology, and Hermeneutics. In addition, CRM publishes Adult Sunday School Materials, Bible Study Guides, Gospel Pamphlets, Study Bibles, etc.. A major work, the New Testament portion of the New International Version (NIV) Study Bible began its first printing in 1991. The complete NIV Study Bible had its first publishing in November of 1996. Since 1978, the Renewal Journal, a monthly publication, has been sent to Chinese Christians around the world upon request. The purpose of the Journal is to encourage and motivate readers to follow and serve the Lord as well as providing information about CRM ministries. Its monthly circulation in North America exceeds 9,000.
Pulpit Ministry:
Ministry to churches, Bible study groups, retreats, fellowship groups, etc.
Discipleship Training (DT) and seminars:
Using "Equipping the Saints", material published by CRM, DT uses the principle of spiritual multiplication in training disciples to bear fruit for God and thus accomplish the Great Commission of Christ. Seminars on various topics are also conducted to assist church leaders in their personal growth as well as equipping others for Christian service.
