Purpose
Over 70 percent of the world's 7.2 billion people are oral communicators. They do not, or cannot, use the printed Word in their daily lives. Because of this, and coupled with the fact that more than half of the world lives in poverty and cannot afford Bibles, Faith Comes By Hearing records God's Word in audio and freely shares these recordings so the Gospel can be heard, or seen, around the world in everyone's native language.
Mission statement
Faith Comes By Hearing uses the following to express its Mission Statement:
To record and provide the Word of God in every translated language.
Statement of faith
Faith Comes By Hearing exists to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in all that we do. Trusting in Jesus Christ as our Savior, we believe in:
- The Bible as the inspired Word of God.
- The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son.
- The vicarious death of Jesus Christ for our sins, His bodily resurrection, and His personal return.
- The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.

Response from ministry
Faith Comes By Hearing's progress is known through the number of completed Scripture recordings, and the number of people engaging with the Word of God through Bible listening programs, Military BibleStick programs, and the Digital Bible Platform. While this work is measurable, there is no limit to the impact made in individual lives and communities around the world.
Faith Comes By Hearing's invaluable partnerships with translation organizations, Bible Societies, churches, and donors significantly assist in accomplishing the goal of fulfilling the Great Commission. Their knowledge, sacrifice, and contributions ensure that the Gospel continues to be heard and shared around the world, and lives are eternally impacted.
History
Faith Comes By Hearing began in 1972 as an audiocassette ministry. Over four decades later, it has become a recognized world leader in Audio Bible recordings and engagement. The mission has stayed the same - get God's Word to everyone everywhere in their heart language. How this gets accomplished continuously progresses as technology changes and people engage with the Gospel in new and exciting ways.
The ministry's spirit of innovation continues to provide effective ways of recording and distributing God's Word around the world. The launch of the Digital Bible Platform in 2010 opened the door for personal engagement with Scripture through a plethora of digital outlets. In 2012, the release of new recording software, called Virtual Recording, provided a viable alternative to record Scripture via the Internet in places where sending in a recording team was not conducive. Render, an oral Bible translation software, was launched in 2016 to address the Bible need for people groups with no written alphabet, and active projects are now occurring in the field. Most recently, Global Bible Apps and Hubs are helping to distribute Audio Scriptures to people via their mobile devices in places that do not have reliable Internet.

Program accomplishments
As of November 2017, Faith Comes By Hearing provides Scripture recordings in more than 1,110 languages, spoken by over 6 billion people. Nearly 960,000 Audio Bible listening programs have been implemented, potentially reaching more than 86 million people with the Word of God. More than 880,000 Military BibleSticks have been provided to chaplains to give to military personnel and veterans. Millions of people have engaged with the Word of God via the Digital Bible Platform.
Exciting advancements in technology are allowing the ministry to record and share the Gospel in ways never imagined 15 years ago. Two current areas of focus include new ways to record God's Word and share recordings with others. Render is a new oral Bible translation software that will help bring the Word of God to the remaining people groups with no written language. Current projects are already underway in the field, and more are on the horizon. Global Bible Apps and Hubs are bringing Audio Scriptures to people living in regions of the world that have unreliable Internet connections or where it is restricted.

Needs
The following are the needs expressed by Faith Comes by Hearing:
Much work still remains. There are hundreds of finished Bible translations that are waiting to be recorded. Your partnership helps to record God's Word in the languages of the world, and provide people with the opportunity to engage with their Audio Scripture. As we continue in this great work together, the language communities become smaller and more difficult to reach. The cost of recording a New Testament for a language spoken by 3 million people is the same as a language spoken by 300. These people are loved and desired by God. They matter and their language matters. Join us in reaching everyone in the world with God's Word in their languages. Pray diligently. Give financially. Partner purposefully. For more information on how you can get involved, please visit us online at www.faithcomesbyhearing.com or call us at 1-800-545-6552.
