History

The Quiet Hour radio ministry Pastor J. L. Tucker established in 1937 has grown beyond his greatest dreams! It was his hope that thousands of people across North America would turn on their radios and hear a program of songs, poetry, and words of inspiration that would bring them into a closer walk with God. Never did he imagine that this young ministry would eventually touch the lives of people around the world!

Over the years friends of The Quiet Hour have helped hundreds of pastors and Christian workers carry the gospel to people in almost 100 countries. More than one million Bibles have been distributed in scores of languages; hundreds of vehicles including airplanes, boats, motorcycles, jeeps, tractors, vans, minibuses, and bicycles have been donated; 3200 churches and jungle chapels have been constructed in needy areas of the world. Each year the organization helps send more than 200 evangelism teams annually to regions of the world with few Christian believers, and their radio and television programs are broadcast in many parts of the world.

The Quiet Hour is involved in many other ministry outreaches and mission projects. As a nonprofit organization they depend upon the help of our listeners, viewers, readers, and friends to carry forward this work.

Program accomplishments

The Quiet Hour Echoes is a 32 page monthly journal is read by tens of thousands of families each month on five continents. It contains stories from the mission field, messages from God's Word, and poems. The Quiet Hour publishes approximately 130 books and booklets and dozens of pamphlets, in addition to more than 100 books by outside authors that are distributed by QH. Also, anyone in North America can receive QH's free Bible course, Way of Life.

Faith Comes by Hearing: QH has produced more than 100 video and audio tapes covering topics and areas like Bible study, health education, family life, personal devotions, music and dramatized Bible stories.

Whole Life is a two-minute program that airs over the radio and the Internet. Windows Of Hope is a 30 minute weekly television program bringing encouragement and insight for today's realities and challenges. QH's new radio program, DoorWays, contains the themes of God's saving grace and power with a new perspective on Christian living, end time issues, family life, and current health topics.
